in the meantime you do need to support yourself by any means – even if it’s $10 sweeping floors, or collecting cans for recycling – DO WHAT IT TAKES to support yourself (seems you have been cause you’re still here 🙂 ) and build your online biz on the side.

      David,

Its unfortunate that $10.00 an hr won’t pay my bills just as it would not pay yours!!! Especially since you appear to live in one of the most expensive cities in America. Thanks for your help?!?

      David,

I have made note of the fact that you have been in to check out my website. I find it interesting that you haven’t bothered to give me ANY kind of feedback!! Too bad! The products that I sell in person sell EXTREMELY well but no one (not even YOU) seems to be able to tell me what I am missing on the website. This is VERY discouraging!! I’m just trying to make a living like everyone else. . . not trying to send out bad karma or anything else. . . just want my site to work and sell!!

Got your book weeks ago. It inspired me to begin writing again and to get published. Thanks for your generosity and all the free tools you tipped in the book.

    David,

I do have your book and am working through it. I think you have some very viable points and am looking forward to finishing it. I haven’t been able to because there are lots of THINGS going on in my life. . .

    1) I am about to lose my home to foreclosure.
    2) I am probably going to have to file bankruptcy and don’t know if I will be able to.
    3) The website that I have needs some work and there is no time right now to work on it.

I hope these are enough reasons cuz I’m about at the end of my rope!!

    Several reasons:
    1. Very busy remodeling a house, programming consulting, having a family, working on improving my marriage
    2. NWD and trying to shave my life down to the essentials for the next few weeks
    3. A bit skeptical about the premise of an internet business
    4. A bit more skeptical that I can actually do it, and that I have something to offer, (my own “stuff” coming up, owning where I’m at)

One of the reasons that I’m hanging in there is that I believe you, that it is possible, and that you really do care. I’m even paying for the membership that I don’t have time for yet. Working to balance everything and transform “I hope I can get to this” to something definite.

I haven’t received the book, which I would love a hard copy. I have been a caregiver to my sister who’s stomach collapsed and was severly dehydrated. She underwent surgery and the road back has been a slow but blessed process.

understood – thanks for the feedback Michelle.

We now try and make it crystal clear about what you’re selecting, and from past feedback I even created a video to explain it this time, and then set it so you had to specifically check a box to opt-in.

So I think we’re getting better at it, and we can always learn more.

    Hello, David,
You ask why I have not claimed your free
book. The answer is that not only did I claim it, I sent the link to a friend in Australia who was very grateful.
i have not had time to read much of it or participate in the following discussion, not that I would not benefit from it, I’m sure. I’m one of those over-extended entrepreneurs. My passion and who I am are wrapped up in my Take Charge of Your Life book. One reader commented that the book literally saved her life. I am planning to do a public workshop on the book later this year. Am wrapped up in many things and personal responsibilities, too. I am beginning to let go of things, though, like my teleseminars on how to conduct a book-signing tour, closing out the articlesaboutbooks.com website, and possibly others.
I did see your video. It was cute. I once led Toastmasters in a Washington DC district of about 3,000 people, and I said what you say – don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself and be real. We ended the year ranked #1 in the world.
    You are amazing.

    Hi David

    The truth is:
The ONLY Australian Entrant in the Velux 5 Oceans “Round the World Solo” starting in LaRochelle 17th October 2010 is my partner.

Our reality is that we are totally self funded and we don’t have the deep pockets that the rest of the world presumes you have when you own a boat. The fact of the matter is Garry is a champion at being able to find a boat at a great price and then bring her back to life with something called “hard work” of which he does 99% himself.

I’m doing every aspect of Managing, PR, Building the website, setting up the business model behind the event etc.

Whilst we are trying to get sponsorship that is not a certain thing so we are trying to maximise our opportunity and certainly Internet Marketing is a major consideration – I just haven’t had the time as yet to follow the IM stuff up as I’ve been so busy on the front end (like trying to get the website up to have a presence to assist with the seeking of sponsorship) – it’s all a catch 22!

David as a fellow Aussie, I’d love to be able to link with someone like you to explore opportunities & why don’t you considercoming to visit us when the leg gets to USA, or Brazil or any of the other ports.

I now must write a press release to go out later today and get back onto the website to have it uptodate (new front page, supports page, and update blogs and news items) before the press release hits the papers (assume Wednesday).

PS, I did go and download it and sent the message to my Facebook so it will be interesting to track it. I like that bit.

I also just want to mention that in your email when you say I “haven’t taken advantage of 2.5 years of work” it lands over here as a guilt trip. The rest of the email lands s genuine curiosity and interest, but when you talk about the “huge amount of work” you’ve put into the product, while I feel ya, I don’t see how it’s relevant to the rest of the email.

Thanks for your persistence. Your last e-mail seemed more authentic than most of the e-mail marketing stuff I get. My experience is free usually turns out to be a hassle with upsells and appeals to the greed factor.

      Hi Charles

thanks for that. Writing copy is a dance, and it doesn’t always land the way you want it to.

And when you send to 60,000 or 120,000 the responsibility is….well, it’s there 🙂

upsells are not inherently evil. It’s about whether or not you got value from the freebie, yes?

And I take your point, we are all a bit jaded

You were asking why I haven’t downloaded your book yet – main reason – for some reason I didn’t notice that it was no charge, nor did I see where I could down load it – I am recovering from a car accident with a concussion and have some visual issues among other things – I’ve come a long way with more to go. Please direct me where to go and what to do – would love to have your information. The second item is time with medical, legal and living. Would love to simplify and derive more income from the internet – look forward to learning how and being very successful. Thanks for your reply. Look forward to your directions and info. Just downloaded the book after receiving your followup call for help. Didn’t earlier because frankly, every internet marketer is now offering me something for free, but generally it’s only free after I spend money on something else. Since I purchased you CD last year, it will be interesting to see if there is anything new in the book.

Keep up the good work. Cheers!

or claimed a physical book (which I did).

    Mildly irritating.

    Feedback about email tone…

the parts below that I bolded feels heavy and occur as guilt-like to me. I didn’t really like that part.

“my system tells me you haven’t claimed an ebook
or physical copy -WHEN I’M OFFERING IT AT NO COST.

I’m surprised because you subscribed to my mailing list,
but haven’t taken advantage of 2.5 YEARS OF WORK…”

The fact that it came on top of 2 parts of misinformation (that I have “claimed” both versions of book… with some effort on my part) brought the email up to slightly more than mildly irritating.

Just thought I’d let you know how it landed over here.

    Good luck!

I downloaded the digital version; is there a print version too?

I’m too busy working on my profit-sharing projects with software companies, helping them boost their email marketing campaigns.

Your book taught me to do only what I like the best, and neglect the rest!

Sorry! I just ordered your free book and made my donation. keep up the good work! By the way, I like your concept of sending books to friends by using the different networking method. I’ve bookmarked it and will start doing it with my mailing list.

I am not sure. I am finishing my Masters in Addiction Therapy.Maybe I assumed I wouldnot be able to establish a career via Solution Box’s program. I have never met any Life Coaches that functioned in the area of Addiction Therapy. My degree will require internship and licensure, but I won’t be able to function independently as in a private practice. This is probably my concern. How can I actually utilize the informationand generate an income stream?

I am being paid for what I love doing and for who I am, have 4 books on the go to read etc, and wish I was able to stretch 24 hours to accellerate my goals and vision, alas, we do have to prioritize. I Thank you though for the reminder.

I got the free ebook. I have my website, but I’m not really sure how to do all this computer stuff. I’ve been working on an ebook that teaching how to read and use TheRunes “The Magick and Power of the Runes” by magicksinger (me) and I’m still working out some details on the last chapter. I got the ebook and it’s great. It made me start thinking, if I’m going to get paid for who I really am, “Who am I?” “What defines me?” “How can I take that into recieving abundantly from the Universe for being who I am. How do I present this to world?” I needed your book to bring these questions up. Some of the answers are obvious. “I AM” “I am loving and compassionate and fun-loving.” “I am a Wiccan Priestess and I love to teach what I know” “I am a talented writer” And “I am much to hard on myself!” “I am a surviver, too, but maybe in having survived so much since Hurricane Katrina (I’m from New Orleans) I have forgotten how to just LIVE! And just BE!” These are issues that needed to be addressed within myself and I discovered those questions that are leading to answers because of your ebook! Thank you. Self re-discovery and re-evaluation is a constant flow that I had gotten out of but now I am seriously into again. I defined myself too much by my city, culture, friends, family…Without that network around me, in a different place around different people (three new States in 5 years) who am I? Figuring that out is the process that will lead to discovering who I really am and allowing myself to ride that wave to success and financial freedom from just being myself and doing what I love. I am 49 and I am rediscovering myself because of your ebook. Thank you for being who you are and giving away this treasure. I am going to reread it. I am also going to be sending a donation soon. I have some money coming to me in the next three days. When it credits to my account, I will be giving a percentage of it, applying what I know to be a certaintly – giving opens the flow to recieving. Thank you again. Genevieve

    David,
I watched your youtube videos. Great stuff. I designed a new awesome business card and ordered 100 to carry around… I will be handing to those who open up to me and seek advice… I have not downloaded the free ebook yet… Why? I’m not sure. I studied business and online marketing for an entire month non stop and became very stressed with money on the mind.. I am very confident and have learned to love and respect myself very much. I find that focusing or thinking about money puts kinks in my creative flow. All things fall into place or fall out of place as they should… Money, I believe is one of the major causes of seperateness leading to war. Reason being that there are machines that print this money… Who owns the machines? I don’t know? But I do know that money and things only hold fictional value and all desintigrate with time.. Unlike the being that we are, the being that is and will always be, with or without money, with or without any thing… As mother earth provides for all of the other animals what is vital to life, it also provides to those who have reconnected with her… My heart yearns not for money or things but for Peace, within and without… yes, I do use money, but the mask covering it’s false face value is wearing thin, and through the eyes of the inner child One sees the illness hiding beneath and knowing the cure seeks to aid in its healing.
I have had a dream vision for a very long time to live in a wonderful tree house… it seems I may have to use money to have it built… I paint, blow glass, write poems/songs, produce music, and many other creative things… I seek to trade/barter these gifts to have the tree house built and sustained… Can you Help with this? I know very well how business works but when i participate in it stress arises. I seek a partner who can help handle the business aspects. Can you spare a couple minutes to see/hear this art and provide some feedback? THank you for sharing your gift… you are an inspiration bro. Can We Speak for 10 minutes a week? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Peace and Healing,
    Scotty “Izwel” Fredell

Like others I’ve received the book…got it in the first round trying out the web site and made a donation. Impressed that you’re trying to track everyone. I do have an alternate email address, so that may be your problem. Looks like you’re finding out about some folks who had tech probs, so I guess that’s good. Finished by finals last week, and still recovering….but I’ll get a bit of time to read next week before classes start again. I’m thinking about what I might do. Enjoyed listening to the conference call in recording (since I was taking a final at the actual ltime). Thanks for recording it.
