join me in 3 months meditation

Posted by David Wood |

After 38 years I’ve decided to meditate.

10 minutes a day, for 3 months.

To see what happens.

To see what I gain. And what I lose.

My aim is to learn to enjoy nothing happening. To see what’s beneath all the bustle.

What’s your aim?

If you’ve ever thought of meditating, or just feel called to try something new – then join me.

We can support each other in this practice, and share our experiences along the way.

HOW TO JOIN
a) Declare it in the comments section below or use this quick link:

http://www.solutionbox.com/meditate

(Save this link)

b) Send a blank email to david38-195055@autocontactor.com so you’ll
get any relevant emails from me during the 3 months.

GUIDANCE

1) We started Monday Sep 11 2006, finishing Dec 11, 2006

2) Start today, whenever you have come.

3) I’m aiming for 20 minutes each morning, but with a minimum of 10. 10 is fine.

4) Put a calendar plainly visible on a wall. (I printed off September to December from Outlook). Tick off each day as you do it.

5) If you miss a day, make it up with two meditations the next day.

6) Post your commitment here on the blog, and share your experiences along the way.
[SAVE THIS LINK so you can come back regularly: www.solutionbox.com/meditate]

7) If you like, invite your friends to also join you and declare. It will be more fun, and you’ll have a greater support structure to see it through. Send them to www.solutionbox.com/meditate

Finally, here are the words that inspired me to start:

“Nothing should happen in meditation. Meditation teaches you to value what is! And not to desire what is not. It points you to Here and now, silence, peace and innocence (nature), towards life it self.

Start more and more enjoying the quiet and nothing happening!

Sit in meditation, for 10 or 20 minutes everyday. A good time is in the morning just before you get up: Sit up in the bed or in a chair for 10 or 20 minute in meditation. Close the eyes and do nothing, just allow the mind, the thoughts to be somewhere in the passive snoring there for a little while longer. And enjoy nothing happening!”

What are you waiting for? I’ve already started – 10 minutes this morning.

See you in nothing 😉

David

this is perfect as I have talked about doing meditation again for almost a year now…time to just “do it”

I will sit in my rocking chair in my bed room, where there are no distractions for 10 min every day for the next 2 months, from oct. 23 to dec. 2306, how’s that?!!
    thanks what a fun idea.

I have been meaning to start meditating based on my reading of the books by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I will start today and enjoy the idea that I am doing this with so many other wonderful people.

    Hi David,

Great to see that there are so many people meditating. What happens after the 3 months? Do you think you will continue with meditation?

What happens really is we become aware and live more and more from this place of peace and awareness.

Hi. Checking in. My apolgies for the long length of time since my last post. I have a pretty busy morning schedule which was my best time to log in. I have started a yoga class, and I have homework I do each morning. I did do the meditation before the yoga, but I have found that I am much more peaceful after the yoga, and I can feel the ‘energy’ throughout my body. I now feel more connected to my body which seems to help quiet my mind as well.

I will admit I have missed a few mornings here and there on those mornings when things do not go as planned and I would try to make it up at night but sometimes that wouldn’t happen either. Oh well, flexibilty is good!!

David, to discuss having the TV on while sleeping. I have heard or read somewhere and I cannot remember where – but ‘they’ say that the noise of the TV may not produce the most restful sleep. Have you noticed anything? It makes sense to desensitize to the noise. My husband has fallen alseep with the TV on for the nine years we have been together and I personally cannot stand it. it is hard to go to sleep sometimes and when I actually get the chance to sleep without the TV on – I wake up much more refreshed and have even noticed that I am able to focus and concentrate better during the day.

Well… Hope everyone is doing well.

    Keep up the meditation!!

Prosperity, Light & Love to ALL

May peace reign over the Earth

Quick note to say I’ve kept to it every day. Really quite easy now. Yesterday I listened to a holosync audio for something different – quite pleasant.

Today I had the joy of waking to jack hammers again. I say joy because I’m exploring being with noise. It was so perfect to wake up, meditate for 10 min on the sound of the jack hammer, and then on my breathing, and for a time I didn’t hear the jack hammers (wild!)

I’ve been putting the tv on quietly each night as I go to bed too, to desensitise myself to noise, and have been falling asleep no trouble. Quite exciting really. Time to increase the volume a little 😉

Thank you for giving me this gift, of not only the support to start meditating again, but also the peace and renewed energy the deep breathing & meditation gives me in the morning.

I look forward to enjoying “nothing” for 20 minutes each day! This is such a great idea…I’m more apt to be committed with others like this.
