  1. Speedo Says:

You are right on time. I am putting together a mailing to realtors, financial planers, small business owners and retirees.
I am inviting them to a free introductory sample coaching session. I hope to get at least 2 sessions/wk set up – but your challenge is an eye opener to me.
Why would I want to limit myself to 2/wk when I can shoot for the gusto and go for 1/day?????
Thanks for the suggestion and slight (ouch!) kick in the butt!
    Speedo

  2. Andrea Says:

I would love to take part of this challenge!

  3. Victory Darwin Says:

    great plan David.

I’ll get the message out to my 500+ life coaches on http://www.BIGLIFE.ws and we’ll see if this works.

    ~V

  4. Victory Darwin Says:

p.s. we’re you able to help that guy with the 500 pound backpack? he seemed like a really nice guy who just needs a good coach. I think the trips up and down the hill were kind of symbolic of some deeper issues!

and are you still trecking? Did you see the movie “into the wild”? It’s really important… he eats the leaves with the diagonal veins and he dies!
ONLY EAT LEAVES WITH LATERAL VEINS!

  5. Rebekah Nance Says:

I would be interested. Can you send out more information on what this would look like and how you see it unfolding? What would we take from this?

  6. Tiffany Haley Says:

That would be a wonderful idea i would be interested in the call.

  7. Lori Bohan Says:

This is exactly what I need!

  8. Nickolove Lovemore Says:

I would be interested in participating in this challenge. There will be times when I’m travelling or attending seminars and so this would pose a challenge in itself but otherwise it would be doable.

    Thanks for the motivation.

  9. mila ridout Says:

sure, i’ll try. I don’t mind to call people. I’m not fully ingaged in my practice right now because i feel like i need to build my website first… this is real challenge for me. i’m keep putting it behind…

    mila ridout

  10. Saba Says:

  11. Victory Darwin Says:

    DAVID WAIT….

    I got it backwards…

oh crap… I might have just killed a super coach!

    .

  12. Leona Says:

    David.
I would love to be a part of so much wisdom and interaction in the coaching field! Will there be a cost? What type of people would I be inviting to these calls? Yes. I am interested?

  13. PJ Says:

Now that’s a challenge! Im game!

  14. Karen Says:

Yes, that sounds fine as long as I am not doing something else at the time
of the blog… I move around alot so I am sometimes in transit,,,,

Wow, I like the idea….lets shake things up!!! I’m still in the startup process, however if tool will help me then again I say let’s go for it.

  16. Lillian Cauldwell Says:

I would like to take you up on your challenge. I own and operate an Internet talk radio station, Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radio, Inc. The company has been up for one year and nine months. My stats are good, 204,000 audio downloads, 154 foreign countries that visit on a daily basis and a large demographic base of university and college students worldwide.

I would like to attract sponsors and advertisers to the station, and could use some help in that.

Thanks for this opportunity. As an entrepreneur, I welcome it.
    Lillian Cauldwell

  17. Mel Says:

The most difficult part is your first clients with whom you want to establish some form of credibility.
Yes I would be interested in the challenge.

  18. sidney rosenthal Says:

ok, its time to get off the fence and get motorvated and this just could be the vehicle to take me up the road a piece. thanks for the invite david.

  19. Alok Pal Says:

    David.

I’m interested to know more about how to meet up the challenge?
Tools or techniques you are telling?
Hope for the best outcome always as an optimist.

I also have a program I am producing for public television stations across the country and am looking for coaches to interview on many subjects. So if you want to be included let your peers know. And if you would like to be a contributor please let me know the sooner the better. I will be happy to share how to get your first clients and free public relations.

  21. Carolyn Kolba Says:

I would be very interested in hearing more about the challenge. I’m always up for a good challenge. Will there be a cost involved?

  22. Mary Says:

I love this idea……..Alittle intimidating to me since I am still in a research mode in regards to Coaching……..Maybe this will help me jump “into the pool” and actually enjoy all that I have been reading about and listening to over the internet! I have purchased your Coach Start manual and I’m really enjoying it!
    Mary

  23. Caroline Wick Says:

I would find it rather pressurizing to keep that goal because I am also studying for an exam right now (October 14th) and work full time. I bought the coachstart manual and have taken the plunge and have started booking people for trial sessions already. This week I was fully booked up (I can only manage one a day) and I have more lined up waiting for slots! So next week will be full too. Because of this I feel the challenge would just be too much. I feel really happy about the way I am moving forward at the moment and when my exam is over I will move into top gear!

  24. michael yergin Says:

my email is dryergin@aol.com. Keep up the great work David. And remember if you want to be part of my nationwide public television series and you are a coach let me know.

A time to sit back ad reflect on my life. A time for something new and challenging. I want to do something great for my family before next year, yes only three months left. I also wish to learn and share with others. Look forward to being part of the team.

  29. Davette Wheat Says:

Thats great! I’d love to participate…..

  30. Catherine Sternberg Says:

I’m not quite clear on the concept but would very much enjoy considering it and getting clarification..thank you

    Catherine

“that would ask you to invite one person to an introductory call
every day for a month. We’d share our progress together and enjoy
calls with leaders in the industry.”

  31. Karyn Bender Says:

    I’m game!

  32. Mary Says:

I’m in, assuming I’m available for the calls. I need more detail also!

  33. Naydeen Says:

    Wow David,

What an absolutely awesome and terrifying concept. Just the sort of thing that I need to push me “into my discomfort zone” for a while to get things ‘happenen’.

Most of your calls etcetera operate from the US and as I’m in Oz I would be interested in the logistics but I’d love to be involved and really get dirty and ‘terrified’ for a while.

    Cheers,
    Naydeen

Sounds great and interesting & challemging especially in light of this recent year’s events that have taken place in my life

  37. Helen Bateman Says:

There appears to be a problem with this website as it ‘timing out’……

  38. Robert Brtuon Says:

Not of interest right not but it would be later. I am still getting my act together and I am not quite ready to start pursuing clients with gusto.

  39. Kishore Kaikini Says:

    Cheers Dr. David Wood,
I am open to be of assistance to you.
Your proposal sounds like a great challenge and I would love to be involved. Like a couple of other people, I am not sure how it would be done as I am based at Bangalore, India. However I would very much enjoy being part of it if at all possible.

    Kishore

  41. Selena Speight Says:

Great idea! Sales Managers – if Sales people are not doing it themselves really should be running this sort of on – going training as standard.

Inspiring a bit of healthy competition internally and ensuring sales people can’t hide behind if’s, but’s and maybe’s benefit’s everyone – but most of all the individual!

    Definately a good idea

    Selena

I’m always up for a good challenge and I have a business that needs a kick start yesterday. Please forward any e-mail materials to the above e-mail address only. I wish you well in the process.
    Peace.

  46. Rahz Says:

I would like to participate. I’ve been coaching just over 4 months and I hit a dry spell. I was coaching 5 sessions per week, then a few clients dropped off. I think this is exacatly what I require to kick start my 2009 blitz…

    Rahz

  47. Karen Says:

    David,

This is a terrific idea. Recently I completed an intensive coaching certification process. As valuable as it was, it took some time away from coaching. I like this challenge!

    Karen

Getting an energy balancing/coaching business started, lotsn of demos. hard to get the $$, would be intrested in helpful tools.

    Alan

  50. Andrea Meier Says:

    Hi David
What a great way to get energized and get support for our initiative!
Looking at the blog responses, it seems like there is unclarity about who does the intro call. Do we do our invitations and follow-up calls individually and then report in to the group, or do our prospects call in to some centralized event?

Yours for wellbeing and all around, joyful abundance!
    Andrea

  51. haroon Says:

  52. Ellen Lerner Says:

    Great Idea David,

I have pushed myself in the past to set up one sample session a day but
truth be told, I lost momentum and got caught up in the rest of the work I was doing. I did manage to do about 3 a week and still saw some results. I would love to see what 5 a week could bring.

    Thanks for the challenge!

    Ellen

  53. charlotte Says:

    I’m in!

    Charlotte

  54. Keith Says:

Thanks for the offer, I’m most interested to be involved.

    Keith

  55. wendy baker Says:

I have been mulling over the extent to the degree of monitoring and accountability towards expressed action towards goal achievement when coaching and mentoring – and reckon there is nothing like experiencing this oneself.
I am not entirely sure if this is what you are intending – so would like to have a bit more clarification around the challenge you’re offering
    Thanks

  56. Elaine Says:

Can you please explain how this is going to work? Why dont you send another email with more details about your plan and the cost of this idea.

I would be interested to take part if I knew a bit more

  59. Beth Says:

It is a great idea and i would be interested. My only concern is the logistics. How do you manage calls all over the world? For example am in Kenya.

  60. Tanna Says:

I would be interested in hearing more. Sounds like a great idea!

  61. Richard Roylance Says:

I think the challenge is an excellent idea and will act as a great motivator to those who take part. I believe two of the greatest motivators are performance targets and competition. Regrettably, I have not set up my practice yet, I am looking for suitable training course.

  62. Sharon L. Mikrut Says:

    I’m game. Count me in!

    Sharon

  63. Andy Says:

    Get me started please!!

  64. Lisa Says:

I would love to have more of a discussion of how/why one complimentary coaching session will bring in clients. I am not against it but know that there are other theories about it. What about taking on longer term clients and getting referrals, testimonials and other services as payment? What about free consulting sessions or talks on your area of expertise? Building a website and blog with great information. I guess I am curious to know what’s the best use of our time in order to build a thriving practice.
    Cheers

  65. Jane Says:

I would be honoured to step up and be part of this … finding that sometimes this process is a lonely one and it would be great to feel part of a team endeavour. Thank you.

  66. Matt Says:

    I think it’s a great idea!

  67. Terri Says:

    I’d be interested.

  68. Margit Says:

    Hi David.

I read with interest your blog of the 25 September. In there you posted your goals and games and one of them was about running an Internet Bootcamp.

We are running 4 day weekends near Graz in Austria. At the moment we are keeping it to a small spiritual retreat holiday, where one of my colleagues is running a workshop. However, I like the work you do and was therefore wondering if this would be a place that you would want to consider for your own plans. Have a look at here: http://www.resolution4life.co.uk/htmlemail/020708/r4l_eml_250908.html where you’ll find links to the area and potential accomodation.

Please let me know what you think.

All the best for now, smiles and lots of happiness.
    Margit ;-)

  69. Kimberly Says:

    Hi David,

Your emails are very informative. I’ve enjoyed reading them. Coaching appears to be an awesome field.

I’m still in the contemplative stage of entering into the coaching profession. I’m quite hesitant at this point; it would be a career change for me. I’ve heard about the field being inundated with coaches and the negative affects of the current economy on the field.
Would you please provide your input on the field being inundated and forecasts for making this a profitable business. I’m currently living in San Diego, CA.

    Thank you,

    PS
I grew up in Michigan. It’s great to see that you live in Mi.

  93. Katerina Gasset Says:

    David,
I have been following you for over a year and I must say you have really come a long way. It is so exciting to see people’s growth! Kudos to you.
This challenge sounds like a great way to get a new coach going.
I have more clients that I can personally handle right now. I have raised my prices substantially and still I am booked.
The key to success in coaching is to really niche. Specialize instead of generalize. Specialists always garner higher fees.
I am going to be moving my practice into a teleconference arena so that I can reach more people at one time, leveraging my time better. Although, I will always do private one on ones because that is what I love to do.
Good luck to all of you who are up to the challenge.

  94. Joanne Clark Says:

    What do I do?
    thanks!

  115. Robert Says:

WOW! My Visa transaction not even completed for the 100 day challenge and I am already being pressured into another purchase for $39. I understand the sales(emotional predator)strategy, but my gut feeling is not good on this. Are there any ethics in this. Let me achieve results 1st and I’ll be glad to spend more. BTW, I am already a multimillionaire so it’s not about the money.

I do not want to create time for something that’s not ethical.

  116. ed murphy Says:

    David,
Please correct your text to read “only ’til Saturday”. Till is a form of Cash register and ’til is the contraction for until.

    Lana
    Los Angeles, CA

  132. Lori Says:

I have experienced the frustrations that come from the problems you are stating now. I am feeling the pain/frustration of not being able to articulate my niche. I’m really wanting to know how to uncover, define, and articulate my niche.

  141. Nicole Baikie Says:

I am also having difficulty expressing my niche. I am a studying to be a relationship coach with RCI. I want to work with powerful successful men and women who may feel they intimidate the opposite sex. Is this too specific? and how do I word this that hits my target market. Thanks so much x

  142. Dana Says:

What if your niche is very very new like future coaching. I have to teach people what that is…

  143. Ricardo Says:

David, regarding being specific…women over 40 or women between 40 and 45 years of age?

  144. Shane Says:

I’m about to launch a membership program for Internet Business Starters/Owners who have had trouble taking action. I am providing full action plans for business, coaching, mastermind groups, and lot of other resources…. AND, one of the key features is that I provide is that included in your membership is a a certain number of hours from a Virtual Assistant to help you take action.

SO>>> The question is… what do you think about that? Do you have advice on targeting? And if you think this is viable?

    Thanks again!

  145. Robin Ives Says:

Is this too narrow a target:
I work with women who are struggling to overcome a sugar addiction. ??

    Or is this narrow enough:
I work with busy adults to help them eat healthy, energize, and de-stress?

  146. Ricardo Says:

  147. Jim Brady Says:

Hey David . . . Creating a niche is kind of like putting a label on yourself and making it easy for others to remember you, isn’t it?

Also, if you say “No” to someone, shouldn’t you do everyone a favor and refer them to one of your associates? Hopefully down the road, your associate will work to repay you the favor.

Can a niche be too narrow or too broad? If it is either, what might be the potential consequences of doing so?

  148. Christine Says:

  159. Crystal Says:

I really would like to help women, especially with finding their purpose in life, what makes them happy (for instance what work they should pursue). I think that women are often raised and encouraged to give up their own goals and desires for family, spouses, kids, etc… I think women are often too afraid to try for what they want/need.
    How would I narrow that?

One more question – If I change my wording to “helping celebrities find true love” (instead of powerful men or women) My company’s name is Megamorphosis PTY LTD Slogan is “Love transforming your life. Does the marketing reflect the niche or is it too specific?

  167. PJ Says:

    hi,
My name is Galit. i have been recieving e-mails from you for several weeks and I am enjoying the information. I was trying to use the support address because I had some questions regarding the 30 day challenge, but I don`t know and I don`t understand how it works. Do you have a simpler way of asking you questions about the e-mails you send? You sent me an e-mail about the 30 day challenge and said I don`t have to pay anything, is it really for free? It is the one that starts on oct. 23. Because if it is I would like to join. Do I have to be a life coach or is o.k. if I am just a person who wants to become a life coach?
Thank you, Galit. I`ll appreciate it if you can answer these questions.

  180. Finn Says:

I updated my info and in return I was supposed to get a free download. But when I tried to download, it crashed my email. The download came thru as an MP3 file, but I don’t have an MP3. So, what to do? It was about mentor coaching. I’d like it in print, if possible. If it’s a regular video, I should be able to play it on this computer. Or, send it to royoga@cableone.net (my home computer). It should play OK on that.

  185. Shawn Wiesner Says:

I joined HUB while attending Jack Canfields Breakthrough to Sucess seminar in August 2008, and have never looked back since. This beautiful opportunity will impact the world not just Africa. In Calgary Alberta Canada at a Humanity Live Event a struggling family in that community were given assistance because of HUB. As it is said Humanity Unites Brilliance takes people from survival to self empowerment to sustained abundance. Brilliant!! HUB gifts it’s members with empowerment training, teaches us how to be good receivers and givers, with a goal to impact the world. We are part of that world and have opportunity with HUB to assist the ENTIRE world. Jack Canfield in all his wisdom and inspiration shared this concept with me and his passion and dedication to HUB is something I shall share and bless it with people that see this vision and the opportunity at hand, and am truly grateful to Jack for the invitation. David, great to hear you are part of the HUB family and look forward to crossing paths in this humanitarian connection.

    Thanks David,

  187. Dorothy Says:

the link on the “$20 to transform your life” email only takes you to the registration for the preview phone call NOT to the registration for the discount registration for the classes – WHAT NOW???

  188. Betty Thompson Says:

Will “$20 to transform your life” be available to listen to at a later date? Only one day notice is just too quick to make arrangements to listen to the call live.

  189. Dorothy Says:

I’m confused, I thought I got four calls with this offer so now I’m paying for them?

  190. John Says:

I have no idea what this 40 minute call is about????

  191. Mary Says:

    David,
I am very disappointed in your e-mail asking us to pay for the “free” calls. You are right that these calls are valuable, AND I think it is important that you honor the commitment you made to everyone when we signed up for the 30 day challenge. That commitment was for free calls. I locked in my oil price with my home heating oil company when the price of oil was higher than it is now. I regret it, but I made a commitment and I’m honoring it. Sometimes we take a loss. And the benefits to you of honoring your own commitment to all of us will be far greater than the long term bad taste that you will leave with all of us if you use a bait and switch tactic. So I urge you to reconsider this decision. It’s not too late to e-mail us, apologize, and reverse your decision. It’s a better business practice, and as our leader in this challenge, I think it is important that you model the kind of ethical practices that you would want everyone to follow.

  192. Lori Howard Says:

I’m feeling discouraged. I completely appreciate your decision to charge – esp since you are now providing a recording. Unfortunately – $27 per call is more than I can commit to at this point. I am sad to say.

I notice you are also changing the structure – a much shorter call than the previous ones. I can appreciate that too – I just feel discouraged and shut out.

Is there a way to provide the calls at a lower cost or free for those who do not get a recording?

  193. Rob Says:

David. I thoroughly agree that you deserve to be rewarded for your energy and the value that you are creating in these calls. However, that could have been foreseen: I can’t imagine you doing a class and NOT creating value. Moreover, if you gave away the calls but created no value you would have ended up with no audience about 30 minutes into the first call.

You’d have been far better off saying something like “I’m going to run a series of calls, and the first X will be free, then if you want to continue to listen it’ll be a modest $x for each call”. Either that, or keeping the calls free on the basis that we’re helping you to create a product which will no doubt repay the energy and value many times over in the next few years.

I fear the approach you’ve taken is causing a lot of bad feeling. I have to confess I’ve been there myself once: you learn and you make sure you don’t do it again. And I’m sure I don’t need to remind you it’s all in the recovery, so I’ll watch with interest what action you take to recover goodwill. Unfortunately, however, I won’t be listening.

  194. Arend Says:

Re. the Ezine teleclass on Nov 13, I’d love to take part in this call, but 9PM EST is 3AM in Western Europe … :-(
Please consider an AM time for this event, or maybe organize a second round …

    Arend

  195. Cath Says:

To underline what Arend says… I am based in the Uk and the calls are effectively oin the middle of the night. Is it possible to scehdule an earleir time for them and hwo do I get the sdownload afterwards?
    Cath

  196. Janelle Doan Says:

    Hello
Do you record your teleseminars for downloading? If so, where can I find them?

    Thank you,

    Janelle

  197. Pam Says:

I live in the Uk and would love to listen to the teleseminar. Please record it!
    Pam

  198. Gary Says:

    Hi
I’ve noticed two recent teleseminar events have been held at times when most people in the UK will be asleep (one started at midnight GMT, your latest one starts at 2am GMT).

Is it possible for you to either run a second/separate seminar for people in UK and continental Europe OR provide access via a recording (which is not the same as attending ‘live’ but would at least provide some content to digest).

You have some great topics but people in the UK feel disenfranchised from what you’re doing.

    Thanks
    Gary

  199. Leah Says:

The subject of your November 13th teleseminar was and is SO important to me in my struggle to establish myself commercially. Having tried all manner of avenues to contact you before the event to get some advice, I got left feeling disillusioned and powerless. What you offer is great – please let us get our hands on it! I presently have hardly a spare bean financially, so these freebies are to be deeply valued; you know they’ll bring us in as paying customers once we begin to get our business income sorted. Please take just a wee bit more care with those of us abroad and in the UK.

In the meanwhile I have to, most regretfully, add my frustration to that of Gary, Arend, Pam and Janelle, but I so look forward to being able to learn from you.

    All best wishes

    Leah

  201. Louise Wiles Says:

David, just wanted to say a very big thank you for making this recording available – just received your e-mail and so haven’t listened yet but was really sad not to have been able to listen last week and to have missed it. I live in Portugal and 9pm Eastern is a really horrible time here. I know you have a lot of time zones to accomodate on calls but if there is any chance of earlier times – and hence earlier times here I would greatly appreciate it! Many thanks though for all your support via calls and newsletters you are an inspiration!

  202. CoachShar Says:

David — As always, your calls are an inspiration! I’ve made some necessary changes and tweaks to my business and my website, and look forward to continued learning. I don’t know about outside North America, but I’ve used http://www.leaderdialog.com in the past and have had no problem. Of course, it’s a single continent solution when you consider timezones, but I thought I’d pass it on.

  203. Valerie Clark Says:

I keep losing the link to the tele class with Linda Puig about ezines. You mention a special offer – can you please let me know about it as I’m concerned I will run out of time!

  204. John Says:

    David

I was really interested in your CD until I saw your message about the ‘mistake’ in the title. I’m sorry that has to be nonsense and you could easily have covered the ‘error’.

Simply a sales ploy I’m afraid that has been used by many many people before you. Your credibility is shot I’m afraid.

    John

  205. David Wood Says:

hi guys – most of our calls are recorded.

And the Wealthy Gypsy Training Calls are now recorded and transcribed, which are available for a fee.

And John – if you’re thinking I asked my production team to produce products with an error, then you’re mind works in a very interesting way ;-)

    Appreciate all your comments

    David

  206. Gary Says:

A recording of calls going out when UK/Europe folk are in bed (ie early hours of the morning) would be brilliant so we do not miss out on the great stuff you are making available around the world.

  207. Dibban Says:

    David,

First of all, a very very happy new year to you. Thanks for your mail on self-mastery. I have also visited Gary Ryan Blair’s site from your link. It costs $97. Alas! I don’t have that money, so can’t take the lessons now. You know, David, that is my biggest problem. Not finding enough fund for proper use at the right time. Moreover, the persons I deal with in my personal life, are so possessive that though I’m trying to be positive, I’m unable to be so. You just can’t go on being indifferent to infuriating attitudes at home all the time. I am a human being. But I am trying. Keep sending such inspirational letters for I am desperate to win in life for my little Ishan, my son, 19 months old.

  208. Neva Says:

Hi David – over the holidays I filled out an online survey from your site, that i could then post on my own site for clients. And I had agreed for you to pass my survey results onto another coach. Your information promised that within days I would be contacted by the coach, receive by email a copy and comments on my survey, and receive the files i could post on my own site. None of this happened.

  209. Emily Says:

I’d love to be on this call but am not available at that time. Will you let us know if it’s available to listen to afterwards? Alternately, I hope you’ll offer it again. Great idea.

  210. Loretta Says:

I feel I am now ‘on purpose’ but it’s not paying too well just yet. getting established can take time, to get people recognising the value (for them) in what is ‘a little out of the box’ type work.
I am perservering, as I know I have success and fullfilment in what I do now.
Well done everyone out there finding peace and happiness today.

  211. Rose-Anne Says:

David’s question: Out of 10, how much are you fully living your purpose now? What’s in the way?

7 out of 10 — finally. While I was writing my book that’s coming out soon, I realized that I wasn’t actually living or working my passions… I was just talking about them. 2009 is the year for me to make that commitment to myself and actually take ACTION to make it happen. So the only real thing in my way was myself and perfection paralysis. So I am just simply going to GO FOR IT! Yay! Let’s see what happens.

  212. Karen Says:

I’m a 5 I guess. I believe I was born to be a facilitator. Not just in the “facilitate the meeting” sort of way but in the coaching sense;to help individuals live out their potential.
As a friend said to me “how can you be a coach with you don’t have YOUR life in order”. Not sure if that is my block to moving into professional practice.
I was certified through Coach Training Allaince in 2005 because the timing of the course was right, but have not pursued individual coaching since then.
I do group coaching at the Women’s Centre here in Oakville with the hope that someone will take me up on the offer of one on one coaching but it hasn’t happend.
If I had to say one thing in my way it would be I simply don’t know where to start!! I need the extra income, but don’t have the start up $$$ for website design etc.
    Thanks for listening!
    Karen

  213. Anna Says:

David’s question: Out of 10, how much are you fully living your purpose now? What’s in the way?

5 out of 10 — I am studying independently, which I like, but I am dearly missing community. Studying with a partner or within a community of students would be so much more rewarding. I am also struggling to find the necessary balance between paid work, and time to study to fulfil my dreams. Money would certainly make the situation easier – if I had the resources to study rather than have to combine full-time work and study, my path would be easier, and certainly more enjoyable.
I am not very hopeful at the moment.

  214. Atmananda Aycrigg Says:

    Hello,

I’m on the Purpose call, but can’t “be heard”, un-mute doesn’t seem to work…
So, I’m quietly screaming, and also appreciating the call, all the sharing, etc.

    Thank you.

    Atmananda

  215. Annalea Says:

    Hi,

I couldn’t unmute on the conference call for some reason, 4* wouldn’t work.

I wanted to share about the thought about playing computer games, and whether or not that can be a purpose. I think it is. This past year I had the opportunity to take the year off and during that year decided that it was my purpose to reconnect to the child or play in myself. I had been so focused for so long in the logical creating money, running a business world that I felt like I lost my authenticity. And my insides were completely empty.

When the time came I had the huge hole around – ok now I have time what am I going to do that I really like and want to do. And I am struggling to answer that question. I found that I had disconnected for so long I have no idea what I want to do or would enjoy.

I have been reading a book called “Heal your Aloneness” Her thought is that harmony is created by having the adult part and the child part healed and in harmony. When this happens we can love and give unconditionally. Validating the child involves doing things that as an “adult” we would maybe think it was a waste of time like “playing computer games” but by doing these things this can create joy.

I have always done what needed to be done in what ever situation, doing what “right” or what others think that is appropriate. I felt more adult than the adults in my life at age 14 and felt like I did not fit in with other kids. I did not allow myself to play or have fun, I was and still am very serious.

So after doing that for a very long time how do I reconnect with the space in me that does things for fun? And how do I find out what those things are that I might find fun – when I have turned away from “fun” for most of my life.

    Annalea

  216. Marnette Hinks Renkin Says:

    Hi David,

I’m on the runnn (whoops! typo, but kinda funny!), but wondered if there was any way to listen in on your Purpose Call after the fact. I missed it.

Thanks so much, and keep up the great work!

  218. Catherine Says:

My long term relationship with my husband (going on 29 years), has been my growth catalyst. Through his eyes, I’ve been able to see myself clearer. Through our ups and downs, I’ve been able to define what is important and what really matters. I am grateful.

    Karen, 28 Jan.

You don’t have to spend $$$$ on a website. You can set one up through Microsoftsmallbusinesslive for nothing. I’m in the process of re-designing mine using this facility – see ExecutiveCareerDevelopment.net. This is not finished but it has been a very useful exercise for me to work through the content and layout. That process has really made me think through what it is I am are trying to achieve and what your “offer” is all about! That is actually a difficult thing to do. I help my clients to work this out all the time but struggle with it myself. So good luck!

  221. Dorothy Wilson Says:

Sorry folks. A couple of proof reading in my post above. There’s an extra “are” in the 4th line from the bottom. The third line from the bottom should read …. what my “offer” is all about.

I never was very good with detail!

  222. Anne Carrington Says:

I’m not achieving my full potential at the moment, as I’m having difficulty utilizing my available, fragmented time due to exhaustion, heat stress and inabitity to focus and complete tasks.
As I care for my elderly, completely dependent mother, and her care has increased to a higher level of care, I’m finding I now don’t have time periods during the day to work on my tasks.
I trust that I have been guided and set on the path to achieving my mission and task in life and have been given the tools and help for me to achieve the way or method to do it.
It’s just that at this time, I’ve lost confidence in myself and my abilties and feel overwhelmed by all the things that need to be done, and my daily distractions of the chores required to care for my mother, and all that is involved in the house, land, garden, and all my mother’s affairs.

  223. Darin Says:

Hi David. I would be very interested in being part of the Seminar/workshop training by phone, however the middle of the day for the Pacific region is no good for me as I am working at my ‘bread and butter’ job then. If this was offered in the evening or on weekends I’d be there! Sounds like some very informative info.

  224. Shelley Elk Says:

Byron’s work is profound, the questions useful..

    as an important ASIDE:
I would like to know if any calls/ and or chats are available via SKYPE..or IM or chat.. etc..and secondly, if the times of calls given can be more specific, taking into account..UK time…etc or if you can give the location of the call and the local time as well.. ie. Greenland, or NY, so I can work it out from there..(as in SA, using GMT, or EST can be really really frustrating and also a bit confusing)

PS : update on profile (note to David: I do not live in Australia, but South Africa) **Please delete this line from the post..THX a MIL!!

What happened with the Tim Kelly – Purpose- call? I realize there were technical difficulties, but they left the line without saying they were not coming back, leaving us hanging. I was really looking forward to this.

Please update us via email ASAP.

    Thanks

David, just received your video edit request, I’m sure you’ll find loads of applicants.

I am an old ‘been there/done it’ entrepreneur but last year did this to help out a friend to set up an internet TV project .. it ain’t that hard .. even did blue screen overlays on footage that wasn’t meant to be blue screened.

Point is, what you are asking is very very simple & [with fantastic software that is around these days & instructional videos on YouTube etc] you could teach yourself in 5 minutes and that way have 100% control over whats produced, instead of issues like rights; the legal process; security; timing etc etc
and if s/o like me can be bothered to do it .. you get the picture
    just a thought ..

    good luck

    Hayd

“If I got 20 top entrepreneurs to give you all their
training products, but just charged you for one,
    would you be interested?

Well – I didn’t, but a leading coach has beaten
    me to it. ”

so if you were not interested why do you think I will, David?
    :-)

This sounds very similiar to the Coachville Challenge I participated in way, way back in the day, during which I began to design the Game of Games (www.gameofgames.com), which also focuses on realizing goals. The game was designed by the late, great Thomas Leonard (www.thomasleonard.com), a peerless innovator in virtual space and much missed and loved.

    Have fun playing!

  240. Gale Says:

I am interested in the offer but I don’t want the membership that is 27/month. If after I read the materials I want to join then I will but I am not intersted in having m credit card billed for 27/month.

If you can work something out let me know

    Thanks

  241. Cynthia Krejcsi Says:

I did just buy the program, but it is a real pain to have to cancel the membership after one month. It seems that everyone is trying to get people to join their clubs now and people just can’t afford to get sucked into these every time they want to buy a product.

I would gladly pay more for the product that have to sign up for one of these clubs. I almost didn’t sign up at all. I did hit the “remove” button for the monthly subscription but I suppose I will still have to watch out for that first billing and then immediately cancel.

Consumers are going to start to get angry about these monthly subscriptions if they are like me and have seen them start to pile up with monthly fees. And the worst part is that I usually don’t have time to even log in once.

  242. Cynthia Holley-Connolly Says:

Well with your permission allow me to grab your rss feed to keep up to date with forthcoming post. Thanks a million and please keep up the admirable work

  244. David Wood Says:

Cynthia and Gale – sometimes we take a loss on the product and require membership. But for this new offer of http://www.GetPaidForWhoYouAre.com/access it’s totally optional.

  246. Michael Hanes Says:

I have “on reserve” for free my digital copy, yet I have not received an email, after I went through the series of steps to qualify. What concerns me is that I am still being targeted to by the book. Which makes me wonder if my efforts at going through the process failed. I would think that your web site, if it really captured my email, and knows I am getting the PDF would target me differently. Just wondering. Can you confirm if I am on the list to get the PDF? Thanks.
