Welcome to the 30 Day Challenge.

You should have received your phone info for tonight’s call. If not you can find it, along with the rules on the download page (the link was emailed to you when you first signed up and will be on each email we send).

You may start today with your first invitation (Oct 23rd) or you can wait until tomorrow (Oct 24th), since this call is pretty late in the day for some. We just want 30 consecutive posts.

In your posts include who you called, your reason for inviting them, and the result. Click on the comments link below this entry to post your progress.

Feel free to encourage one another as well as you challenge together.

Curious if this is now closed? I thought David was leaving it open. Anyone want to communicate? Support one another?

I have about 20 “warm invitations” accepted, but not scheduled
carried out. So my goal is to get at least 3 new paying clients by
Dec. 30. I’m finding I just naturally extend invitations. So this
follow through is where I need to focus. I also want to get
comfortable with asking new clients to pay me at the end of their
comp. session for the month to come. Paypal is preferable for me.

I had a 2nd session with a new client today that went great and a 2nd session with another last Monday. It’s so fun! Working on pinning down a couple intros, but not nailed down yet.

    Final update:

Sorry this is so late. I think I’m finally past dealing with sick cats and ready to get back to work!

Total invitations during the challenge: 38+
(I lost count at the conference, but it was at least 8 more, plus 1 after)
    Sessions scheduled: 12 / Sessions delivered: 10
    New clients: 3 ($250, $250, $1350)
    Total new coaching income: $1850
    Total new other income: $480
    Total new income: $2330

Thanks, David, Beth, and everyone on the challenge!

I’ll see some of you on our December challenge – e-mail Wendy@TheProsperousArtist.com if you want to participate, or you can add yourself directly to our yahoogroup by e-mailing 30DC-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

Thanks to the “push” David gave us part way through the effort, I created code for my site to allow folks to sign up for my newsletter (now to be electronic), and it’s on every page, as recommended. Total pain in the neck to get through, but now that I’m getting subscriptions, well worth the effort.

For those of you like me, who are too cheap to pay someone to do your html for you, your web hosting provider should have pre-canned html for this application that you can copy and customize. I use yahoo, myself, and it took some doing to figure out, but I did it. And, let’s face it, if I can, anyone can. That’s how all my coding gets done.

I also got the incentive to start a new aspect for my coaching business, and that is already proving a good choice. I apologize for the delay in this post, but I did not want to end without truly finishing.

25 invites (plus unbelievable amounts of networking, and joining two professional orgs I never would have considered previously)

    3 exploratory sessions

2 total clients so far, both paying. One of the three sessions will become a pro bono as a favor to a friend. I refuse to take her husband on, though.

1 client paid me $300 up front.
2nd client paid $150 up front (this is a new business model I’m experimenting with)
1 unpaid client (who is formally starting next week)

Grand total of money received through this process: $450

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you, especially David and Beth.

To finish up, here are my total stats:
I posted each of the 30 days of this challenge, and made between 48 – 53 invitations to sample sessions.
I have completed 7 sample sessions so far, and have others scheduled.
I have gotten and started coaching 2 paid clients, each at $600/month. Both have paid me for their first month+ so far, and are committed to at least 3 months of coaching. A third person is wanting to start her (paid) coaching in January.
And I have learned a lot about what works and doesn’t work for me in this process.
    Thank you!

I know it’s late, but I started the challenge late so I’ll post today and tomorrow in order to finish in integrity with the rules.

Today’s invitation went to Suzanne G. another friend of a friend in my market niche.

Congrats to everyone who finished the challenge already and especially to those who had such great results!

    Properly formatted (I think) update:

40 invites (plus some group email invites and business cards on bulletin boards)

5 exploratory sessions (plus one that was skipped because we moved right to first session)

11 exploratory sessions still to go (either already scheduled or agreed to)

    3 total clients so far:

2 paying clients, they paid me $100 each for the first month,
1 unpaiid client (at least not in cash), but she pays me in massages!

Grand total of money received through this process: $200.

It’s been an awesome experience. Got plenty of practice dealing with rejection too 😉

Hi, everyone – if you’re still here.

I’m in the process of setting up our structure for ongoing support. So far I have Elisabeth, Sharon, Patty, Bob, and Suzanne. I saw interest from Julie, but never received e-mail from you, so I have no way to add you.

Had trouble getting on last night – could have been the site or my provider???

    Stats:
Invitations: 32 pluse a group letter to 52 (I followed up individually)
    Trial Sessions: 10
I still have 4 to do
1 Barter client – exchanging coaching (3 sessions per month) for a massage per week
Working on another barter – gourmet meals in exchange for coaching.
No paid clients as yet – I’ve got “December Discount” offers out there.

Thanks for the structure on this. Good Things to you all.

If I counted correctly, that is #28 for me so I’ll plan to post 2 more invititations in order to complete the 30 days.

Congrats to everybody who has already finished successfully.

This is Saturday’s post: I invited a direct report, Suzanne of a manager I who I’ve actually done a trial session with. She is relatively new to the organization and not quite on board with the culture (thus the name on-boarding.) This is the organization where I worked for 9 years so it would be a good fit. I’ve done a trial session with this manager, a former internal client, and I’ve offered to coach him for a month pro-bono. He’d like to get his life back.

I’ll report my stats on the next post.

    My stats:
    32 invitations
    2 invitations declined
    7 intro sessions done
3 converted to unpaid coaching structure
0 converted to paid coaching structure
I still have 9 more intro sessions to set up for those who have said yes and 11 people have not replied to my email invitations.
I learnt from this exercise the importance of taking action every day, even if it is just an email. I also learnt the power of asking the simple question in every conversation: “what is the number one change you’d like to make in your life?”.

Thanks everyone for taking part in the challenge. It was fun doing it with you all, and special thanks to my buddy, Irene xx

    Here’s the promised update:

I did an exploratory session with Pam! We ended up not setting up a coaching structure, at least not for right now. Instead, we decided to be Law of Attraction buddies…

Today’s session brings my score of Introductory sessions to 5, and I still have 10 either scheduled or agreed to but not yet scheduled. I will continue with this process for the foreseeable future, and will also participate in Wendy’s follow-up/sequel.

So here are my updated scores:

39 invites (plus some group email invites and business cards on bulletin boards)

5 exploratory sessions (plus one that was skipped because we moved right to first session)

3 clients so far, two of whom paid me $100 each for the first month, and the third of which pays me in massages! So grand total of money received: $200.

10 more exploratory sessions scheduled and/or agreed to.

Now working on new business cards and my coaching website to make this take off…

Thank you, David, thank you Beth, and thank you all for your support and fellowship in this great program! And if there’s another 30day challenge in the future, I’ll be back!

My invitation today was for Maggie T. someone who lives on my road but whom I only see occassionally. I need keep going for three or four more days to complete the 30 days. It’s been great to get in the habit of always looking for someone to invite.

Congratulations to all who successfully made it through to 30 days!

Wendy, I’ll look for whatever continuing venue you set up….Thanks

Day 30: Did not extend an invitation today as it was a busy day and coaching did not come up in any conversation. I was at work from 6pm till 10pm and now I’m just too tired to post my results… will do that tomorrow.

Wendy, I send you blessings for you and your kitty!
    I forgot to say I invited Melissa for a session but we have to synchronize our time zones;
she travels a lot and I’ll be in Oz so once we pick a time/day it’ll happen. She is an ex colleague from United. Many unhappy campers there so I will continue to work with a group there.
I sent out a group email the first day of the challenge, I posted it on my blogsite and this invitation was posted on a few forums by people who’d read it. So this is where most of my sessions came from. Apart from that, once I realised the idea was to invite people on a daily basis, I did invite at least one person daily and it was fun to observe how I felt doing this. Some occasions it felt very natural and other times I could feel myself holding back…so I will continue to play with it.
All up, I had 2 people sign up for 6 month program and pay up front.
One at my full fee of 1500 euro, the other at $1500.
I had 2 people sign up for a month at a time, 1 at 250 euro, 1 at 260 GBP
Then 1 lady wanting to start but she was moving and did not have phone connection yet and she was traveling all month, so am keeping in touch with her.
Then 2 people who went straight into sessions and paid 267 euro and the other 200 euro.
One session in exchange for an energy session.
And a few more appointments for sessions over the next few weeks at 200 euro, 70 euro and 55 euro.
One of my clients extended her coaching for another 6 months also:-)
I would not have had these connections if it had not been for this challenge so I am delighted to have had this experience and knowing how many people were eager to experience this, I will offer it again in the new year for sure.

All up I gave 38 intro sessions and from those there are at least 10 who will join group sessions, mostly because their finances don’t allow individual at the moment.
I offered a few discounts to people and 1 signed up. I like 10 individual clients max, and I have 7 now with another 2 starting in January, so my focus is to expand group sessions now.

THANK YOU everyone, THANK YOU David, THANK YOU Beth, for putting this together and for showing up to play:-)

Happy thanksgiving and many joyful blessings,

    Tina

    Sa 11/22:

What day is this? I think the 30 ends today, right? Yesterday? Tomorrow?

Up all night with my sick kitty – I had her euthanized at 3:30 this morning. 13 years she’s been with her sister and me – very sad, and the whole situation has taken much of my time, energy, and attention this week from conference follow-up and the 30DC.

I’m getting picked up in a couple of hours to go to an all-day thing in NYC. I expect much caffeine will be required.

In spite of all that I got a new client yesterday and ended the challenge with three, for $1850 in total new coaching income (+ $480 in rental income) – not bad. I made at least 35 invites, and posted every day.

Tomorrow (Sunday) I’ll set up a place for us to continue, for those who want it, and will post info here. If you’re interested and haven’t yet let me know, e-mail me at Wendy@TheProsperousArtist.com.

    All the best to everyone.

    Send sleep!

I can’t believe it’s the 30th day (or was that yesterday? But no, since really the 24th was the official first day where we had to post…)

I sent an email to my chiropractor and another alternativve health care provider I’ve been seeing off and on. Not heard back yet from either.

I also invited another woman at Staples, and a woman at my bank. Both said thanks but no thanks.

I also finally caught up with John, the hairdresser. He’s been having phone trouble and never got my other messages. He said he’d be happy to recommend me and I should give him some of my cards. Well, I better get those done fast now.

I’ve been using other cards, of http://www.myfavoriteselfhelpstuff.com and scribbled the coaching offer on them, but from the non-response I’ve gotten in response to that, I had better get proper ones (Sue said that too on Wednesday).

    Tally:

39 invites (plus some group email invites and business cards on bulletin boards)

4 exploratory sessions (plus one that was skipped because we moved right to first session)

3 clients so far, two of whom paid me $100 each for the first month, and the third of which pays me in massages!

Also have an exploratory session with Pam scheduled for later today (Saturday), one with Sue for Tuesday, one with Carri pending specifc date, and sessions with Chris and Robin1 as well as Robin2 to be scheduled (but all agreed to do a session). Ditto for Steve, Mary, Shann, and Maurice. Oh, and my sister.

So this means 11 more exploratory sessions either scheduled or agreed to but not yet scheduled.

Looks like I’ve been a bit slack in follow-up… Need to call at least both Robins, Steve, Mary, Shann, and Carri. Will call them all Saturday (today) in the afternoon or so, or at least leave them a message.

I’ll post an update later today 😉

Thank you David for this amazing experience. I would have never thought of doing this, and here I am, with two paying clients, regular massages, and a whole new career 🙂 I’ll definitely keep on going.

Later Tally Report, plus: I asked Sue & we’ll meet Monday, 11:30 AM. Asked Bill, husband of a probable client, so he’ll know what we’re doing. l”

Today I got EXPLODE YOUR PRACTICE & began to read the sections I needed for this last day: how to ask for your fee = especially useful! and “how to handle objections.” If I could have talked with my TWO FULLPAY CLIENTS who say they still want to do it, but 1)after Thanksgiving & 2) after Christmas, I think I could have worked a deal. But couldn’t reach them and theyhaven’t yet responded to the email. I do expect they will if I play it right – one maybe at a bit reduced fee, though I won’t go there till I feel there’s no option. I’ll be studying David’s transcript, which I HIGHLY recommend, if you like this challenge. Wow.

I did have one new commitment today from the bike race acquaintance who lives on $1100 a month! She really wanted to coach with me. She said how much more energized she was after just that one 1/2 hour, but that she couldn’t do it without paying me my full fee and she can’t. . . I practically begged her to let me coach her for $1 per month for 3 months so I could have “two $$ in hand over $100 total” clients, in case one of my other gals came through. She insisted on $20 & that is the cold, hard cash I have in hand now. I am so honored.

So, I’m disappointed to not have the goal after all. But I’d do it over in a hiccup! I’m so jazzed!!! Day and night different person am I than a month ago. WOW! Again, thanks David & all!

    30 days = 31 invitations
    9 sample sessions/intro meetings
    0 converted to non-paying clients
1 converted to barter, 1 missionary converted to tithe
1 new paying client (& two more probably coming through soon)
Total money in hand from 1 new client: $20.

Made 30th contact in the 30 days to a fellow I’d heard had been having a hard time a while back. Figure he made it through but suspect he’s more open to help than before.

I went to a Grand Opening of a new wine bar/store and met an executive recruiter who focuses on the Health Science industry, my former corporate background. Organizations hire him (retained search.) He suggested that we touch base next week because he may be able to refer potential clients to me. I suggested that I do a trial session with him so that he understands what coaching is and how I work. I’ll follow up next week to schedule it.

Today I followed up with a few people I’ve done trial sessions with telling them I’m offering a special rate (half) for one month of coaching in December. I also tested the waters with them on group coaching. I’ve heard back from one – family financial urgency has taken precidence and that it would be March before she could do anything. I have a few more to follow up with.

The executive who said yes to the coaching pilot for the economic development project has put it on hold – they are laying off 3 people and cutting back $200K. I’m going to approach her on coaching her independently as she seemed very interested.

Got an email back from yesterdays invite to Lynn. She wants to set up intro session first week in Dec.

Invited Rip who is a big whig in the oil industry. He said that his life is great and will think of some referrals for me.

    30 day results:

Invitations=33, Intro sessions completed=15 (more to come),
    # converted to unpaid coaching structure=0,
    # converted to paying clients= 3.

This was an amazing experience. Thank you all.

    5 intro sessions

$575 income generated directly from this process (so far!)

This was exactly what I needed, and I believe I have developed a pretty good habit. Thanks to all of you, and I hope to “see” you all on the call on Monday!
