{"id":1228,"date":"2012-03-08T12:00:12","date_gmt":"2012-03-08T18:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/life-coaching-resource.com\/blog\/?p=1228"},"modified":"2012-02-01T14:59:58","modified_gmt":"2012-02-01T20:59:58","slug":"selecting-target-organizations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.life-coaching-resource.com\/blog\/selecting-target-organizations\/","title":{"rendered":"Selecting Target Organizations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following is an excerpt from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coachstart.com\/\">CoachStart Manual<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Who would benefit from your talk and ideally would pay for it (associations, clubs, charities, corporations)?\u00a0 Some will pay; some are just a training ground, testimonial builder, and a place to get individual clients!\u00a0 Source them from friends, yellow pages, people in the speaking industry, Chambers of Commerce, Libraries, a local chapter of The National Speaker\u2019s Association (NSA).\u00a0 All will have a list of service groups, associations, etc&#8230; that want and need speakers.\u00a0 Joining a Toastmaster group is also a great idea, and they have a speaker\u2019s bureau which supports their members in getting speaking engagements.<\/p>\n<p>Call or email your friends and colleagues and ask them which clubs they belong to which might need a speaker.<\/p>\n<p>You might provide \u2018lunch and learns\u2019 at companies and organizations.\u00a0 These are for free or fee, and are provided during the employees\u2019 lunch hour.\u00a0 It is a way for the company to provide self-development\/educational programs and for you to get in front of decision-makers and show them what you can do.
