2. FEATURE: How Far Did You Come in 2009?

Before you go on to conquer the world in 2010, don’t you think it’s important to celebrate how far you have come this year?

Look back.

What have you accomplished?

What are you proud of?

And so importantly – what are you grateful for? (Because gratitude not only feels good – it generates growth.)

I’ll start. Below I’ll share what I’m proud to have accomplished this year, and what I’m grateful for.

But don’t read it passively. Oh no.

At the bottom I’m going to ask you to write YOUR Celebratory for 2009.

As you read mine, ideas will spark for what you can celebrate this year. Then I’ll ask you to go straight to the blog and post for the world to see. By sharing your accomplishments you’ll inspired others to make magic happen this year, as well as be inspired by what others have posted.

My friend Trevor has finally been able to retire & start collecting his RR retirement which is equal to the monthly amount that he was receiving each month on the job. I on the other hand have been retired for 5 years and have wanted to start a business with my friend. I have been involved with helping others in the community and also in local prisons & jails at no cost to anyone but myself. We are each quite knowledgeable in different aspects of COACHING (life, recovery, spiritual), having worked with people with addictive disorders for over 40 years between us. I have been researching different aspects of this industry from different online schools to email addresses & domain names, to renting an office & dealing with the zoning board, to Incorporating & Financing & Marketing & anything else I have forgotten to mention. We plan to do group & one-on-one coaching both on & off line. We also plan to have, sliding scale payments, & pro bono coaching. We plan to offer the first session for free with payment in advance upon signing up with us and a % off when paid one month or more in advance. I am looking at PayPal as an adjunct to payment by check, money order or credit card. Clickbank is also something I have yet to peruse. We also plan to hire a coach for each of us so that we can always have good results in our own lives as well as our clients lives and have acquired a person who worked with Tony Robbins for four years. So, thank you for offering this space for me to tell our starting story.

David, thank you so much for the opportunity. All the wonderful achievers here! Thank you for your inspiration. I have just got to know of David this week and have been madly reading everything, inhaling it!

    Here goes:

    HEALTH AND LIFESTYLE

I am now a full vegetarian and have decided to not eat anything with a face! Fish have half a face so I think that’s okay.

I moved to a house with less maintenance with my 10 year old daughter which is so much better.

I decided to only have thoughts and experiences that ADDED to my life. I let go of “should”.

I worked smarter so I had more time for my family of 7 children and because I am a sole parent. The grown up ones are flying, they are great people.

I made an agreement with myself that if I put myself first everyone would benefit. The Dentist is now a fascination instead of an avoidance!

    RELATIONSHIPS

Made many new friends through my own business and privately.

Met the Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, numerous celebrities and formed a bond with a lovely man, not romantic.

Let go of the love of my life (so far!) and struggled through that and out the other end.

Dated a lovely man and then ran… whoops! Still pondering that.

I am vERY spiritually motivated as I am a vibrational healer, Medium/Clairvoyant. I came to terms with converting these labels as I resisted my gifts for many years. I chose a Corporate job, Teaching and Clinical Hypnotherapy to hide a bit. I have taught Astrology for 20 years so I love doing charts for my clients. I am about to call myself and get qualified as a coach. My degree is in Disablility and Health.

    BUSINESS/PROFESSIONAL

    I set up 2 blogs, stillinheaven.wordpress.com and businessbutterfly.com.au.

I wrote for the first time about my best friend who died and begged me before she died to follow my true path and work with those who have lost loved ones.

Saw over 1,000 clients since setting up my business, Business Butterfly in the last 2 years without advertising, just word of mouth. It’s still growing.

Taught the Law of Manifestation and applied it in amazing ways with my clients who are in my micro business stream. They are flying.

Taught Astrology of the Soul to enable my clients to know themselves and learn Astrology basics.

Was offered an office in Toorak, and given opportunities beyond what I ever imagined as a struggling sole parent.

    FOR 2010

To continue the profound, inexplicable connection to spirit, source, the universe.

TO work with love and compassion and to LAUGH at myself and life, which I am known for, I must admit. Life is Fun! Wish everyone the very best year. David, thank you for your generous application of wisdom and resources.

I finally understood the value of deep appreciation, how to go that special place, and how to stay there. It’s beyond spreading joy, it is being in JOY….and I just love that.

To know that I am loved, cared for, provided for and protected! That’s huge, very huge.

Thanks for the opportunity to post our celebratory – here it comes:

    at Professional level:
    – finally did what I wanted to do so much earlier already: left the job and the company to go my own way from now on.
    – started a great coaching training
    – met interesting and sparkling business people with whom I got associated in the meantime.

    at Private level:
    – I faced the Terror Barrier when ready to go down the Death Ride but I took the big step into… nothing and landed on mother earth again. Relief, happiness, pride, and a lot more came my way.
    – learned how to meditate and what good it can do for me
    – got to know loads of new people, got to trust my intuition which makes me stronger.
    – started raising my kids with more conscious ideas about Coach Attitude.

    Money-wise:
    – started using the saved up money to work on my own development, fully trusting I will make more than double that amount again in a few years. And a lot more.

    Promising for 2010 huh !!!

    My 2009

Spent nearly two months in Madrid with the family, where I had some beautiful alone-time with my 3-year old while my husband was working.

Organized two yoga courses, the second one fully booked – 18 wonderful people, a great group of individuals who brought out the best in me. Also held classes in studio.

Started to feel confident as yoga teacher, daring to share more from my heart.

My company has had the most profitable year this far with many exciting, fulfilling projects and great coaching clients.

Succeeded with the deal for jobcoaching and started delivering that.

My job coaching fully booked straight away (not many others got that so I’m proud, feel that the practice and reputation I’ve built the last 3-4 years works. Hopefully I’m perceived as authentic, sincere and professional.)

Had a couple of nice romantic getaways with my husband (want more of those though!)

Made new friends – Jenny and Jenny A for example.

Spend a lot of time with closest friends.

Decided we wanted another child and got pregnant in an instant (with our first it took more than a year).

Continued with my yogapractice and attended several fantastic yoga workshops and retreats. Thank you for yoga!!

Was hired as responsible for yoga teacher training att mangalam.se

Was hired as yoga teacher for Himmel & Jord

Was project leader for three inspiring projects who have helped empower women in the region. And to get government funding for all three is also something to be proud of.

Continued on the children’s book – now ready to send to publishers!

What a great way to spend a few minutes, I feel grateful and lucky to have had such a fulfilling year. Now I’m much better prepared for the new year and new challenges. It’s so easy to just keep looking forward and forget to reflect on the time that has passed.

Wow – what a year! And David, well done for setting this up, and for working through some difficult issues yourself in 2009. May 2010 be a new, fresh year and decade for you!

2009 saw the following for me:

    Business:

    * Launch of my book ‘The truth about trust in business’ across the USA and China
    * Launch of Membership
    * Cash drain as we continued to develop our full service offering, including 12 ebooks and eguides, a coaching program for business and life coaches, 3 new books on the way, a program to teach children how to trust, setting up our Foundation …..
    * Got the green light to pilot schools program in Russia
    * Signed up 26 Not For Profit Coaches (people working in communities and with the disadvantaged) in 9 countries to begin our new coaching program
    * began repositioning entente as an International Movement of Trust

    Relationships:

    * Continued to support my teenage son in his blossoming dancing career, and reaping the rewards with a beautiful, trusting relationship
    * Worked through some financial issues with my husband, only to come out stronger
    * Was taken on the Queen Mary 2 for a 16 day cruise for my 40th Birthday!
    * Relaxed with family on a cruise around the South Pacific for Christmas

Life is good. 2010 is shaping up for the launch of 3 new books, and entente foundation’s inaugural International Day of Trust.

I am deeply grateful for the clarity or purpose I enjoy, and for the constant blessings, the doors that open wide as I take this message of trust to the world.

    Thank you!

I love doing this! So here goes:

The majority of our vacations were superb: We had fantastic powder snow in our ski mountaineering and did lots of it! The hiking vacation where I was sick actually turned out ok as I learned tons listening to books from people like Ekhart Tolle and developed new ideas for my time management workshops. The trip to the U.S. was soooooo good I did not want to come home. Hiking in the South of France was excellent, with lots of lovely days, great people and outstanding food and wine!

Work was excellent! I tripled my income, took some crazy opportunities that came my way, those crazy opportunities opened new doors and built up my confidence and am now working with a world renowned international organisation as a workshop facilitator (while keeping my independance). And, did some great coaching with wonderful clients whos progress to their goals is amazing to watch and a big lesson to me!

Relationships also improved. Had a great holiday with my parents (the first time we have been together for quite some time…) and spent great time with friends on our holidays. My business network is also improving.

And… we made a big decision regarding our house so have been cleaning out, throwing away, giving away so much stuff, re-organising! Each thing that leaves the house feels like one less burden on the shoulders!

And.. to start 2010, we just finished 8 great days of ski mountaineering in the swiss alps. WONDERFUL! My new skis take me over the snow like a ballerina!

So…. 2009 was filled with adventure, new opportunities, and fun. The big lessons I take from this are: (1) Take risks and try new things (2) Step away from my busy head of thoughts and look at the big picture (3) Be grateful for what I have, I am, all there is and what will be (4) Finding the silver lining is now automatic and it really helps!

There’s lots of things big and small that I am celebrating. The most important to me was worth me takin the time to post. I celebrate the fact that I’ve realized my calling as a life coach. When I realized this passion in my life it seemed to turn me in the direction of purpose. For this revelation I’m grateful and am finally excited to see the start of a new year!

    Work
Met some amazing people in my fundraising role. Such carers and people with passion out there. I am lucky to know them all.
Supported my colleagues through some tough times I felt it was important I was there.
Went to Buckingham Palace! – I know name dropper!
Did some real serious thinking about what to focus on in 2010
Met Richard Briers – childish hero
Designed two award shows and some away days with positive messages littered throughout. Felt good to share.

    Family
Started our family tree on dad’s side – really fascinating and a lovely thing for me, dad and sister to do together
Congratulated my niece on passing her driving test. So exciting.
Continue to talk to my mum even though she has gone. She still gives me the love and support and I can really feel her with me on some days which is really special.

    Friends
Rented a lovely house in Scotland on a Loch and had breakfast with rabbits, deer and red squirrels every morning. Staying in the UK for holidays is officially gorgeous! There is nothing better than a group of friends unwinding altogether.
Got in touch with some old friends too – you know the ones you ought not to have let go. It is amazing to pick up with them again.

Happy New Year Everyone Out There. xx

    Health
Real rollercoster. But, told everyone at work I have epilepsy which is a first for me in the workplace. Very liberating and don’t know why I kept it in for so long. My wonderful boss gave me the space to get better and I will be eternally grateful to her.

    Money
Actually got the hang of this – very cool to be able to save for things without feeling you are missing out. I have a really simple life now and am kicking myself for not doing this years and years ago. Progress has definitely been made.

2009 has been a wonderful year of trusting God. Became aware of the importance of connecting with the world. No need to hide or run away from people, I have nothing to be afraid of.

Enjoy being still with God studying the bible as I begin to see the beauty of who God says I am.

    Love playing with my grandsons.

    Started my own business. http://www.DorothySessa.com

I have turned fear into courage . . . Courage into Confidence . . . Confidence into Commitment.

You’re never too old to make your dreams come true. I have longed to be a speaker. I have got a business coach who keeps me focused and following through with my goals. I am learning how to send out monthly notes of encouragement by email. Someone told me my gift was ‘Encouragement’ and it’s been expanding ever since.

Finishing my second book. I feel like my life has begun again at 55 years of age. Thanks be to God, He encouraged me to never give up and keep my eyes on Jesus as I run the race he has prepared for me. I have learned how to go to Face Book, Meet Up and Linked In. Life is so amazing when you put a GR in front of your ATTITUDE.

My Life is full of Peace Love & Complete Joy because I have learned how to communicate so I can get what I have always wanted a life without depression. I am so blessed. Everyday it is up to me to choose . . . blaming, complaining or letting go and being responsible for each choice I make of being grateful and happy with who I am . . . just as I am.

I look forward to blessing the world with my attitude of gratitude time and time again in 2010.

    Wisdom:

Transitioned my “Healing House” to new operator who maintained the vision and mission to support those in recovery

    Wellness:
    Family/Friends:
Renewed long-time friendships at reunion of HS Drama Club participants this summer.
Honored family connections by attending annual family reunion. Surprised Mom for her 75th birthday and with the help of other family members compiled wonderful memory book for all to share.
Regularly made time to spend with my amazing adult daughter.
Regularly made time to share formal dinner evenings with my partner, Bill and enjoyed continuing to cook together.
Deepened my relationship with my brother and sister.
Made some amazing new friends and gratefully supported existing ones.

Health: Committed to positive self-care practices that maintained overall physical wellness and did not exascerbate weaknesses in back, feet and sinuses.

Home: Continued to de-clutter and to make my home the sanctuary it is intended to be!
Donated more “stuff” I wasn’t using than I care to admit I had collected.
    Completed a few dangling projects.

    Wealth:
Work: Maintained two steady consulting agreements throughout the year
Began working as a business and life coach.
Adopted “effortless” as my word for 2009 and effectively stopped forcing and pushing unnecessarily.
    Completed 80% of e-book.
Completed Free Report – “Becoming a Wise Well Woman – How to Baby Step Your Way to More Wisdom, Well-being and Wealth”
Special guest appearance on Real Women LIVE radio show.
Facilitated an E-Myth Revisited Workshop at the annual WomanThatWin conference
Presented “A Marketing Plan for 2009 – the NuBarter Way” for NuBarter monthly members mixer.

Money: Really changed my “money story” and wrestled with some true demons there. Began to appreciate money as a symbol of commitment and an energetic exchange.
Despite significant decline in income from previous year, continued to make strides toward debt elimination.
Did not buy anything I didn’t need! Honored my commitment to buy local and stay away from “big box” retailers at all costs.
    Effectively re-wired my shopping brain.
Reduced, re-used and recycled everything I could.

Future: Integrated vision boards into my toolbox for the third year.
    Manifested amazing life experiences.
Can “see” myself truly “stepping up” for the first time!
Put the building blocks in place to catapult my business success for 2010.

In the spirit of wisdom, wellness and prosperity,
I send well wishes to all in the New Year!

2009 might be viewed as a year of struggle having been laid off and experienced foreclosure. I found both situations to be freeing and opportunities to learn. It’s been a year to focus on what I really want to do (when I grow up? :). 2009 found me happier, more joyful & satisfied, re-energized then in my life. For that I give thanks. I’ve launched a wellness business utilizing the gifts of massage and natural coaching abilities to help others have a quaility life (by their definition). In August I found myself engaged to a wonderful person. The irony is I was content in my relationships. He is the frosting on my cake of life!

I found much to be grateful for in 2009 — 2010 can only be better. As a friend always says “onward and upward”
    Peace!

This is a lovely idea — and gee whizz where do I START? I think I will just let it flow:
*In January moved from a home office to a fabulous office in town (how very grown up!!) and threw myself into my new business endeavour
*In June/July – after months of planning – travelled abroad to manufacture clothes and fashion accessories for my new fashion label http://www.missmoss.com.au
*In October finally finished my website and learnt some great skills along the way including Word Press for my blog http://www.blog.missmiss.com.au and CMS skills for my online store http://www.online.missmoss.com.au
*Have personally set up accounts with a dozen retail outlets who sell items from the Miss Moss range.
    Friends/Family:
    * Sadly said goodbye to my father and had a wonderful send off for him with family.
*Have developed an even closer relationship with my mother and parents in-law; which allows us to be adults together as opposed to child/adult.
    * Made some of the best friends that I’ve ever had and am learning to express myself better with them, learn boundaries and give more freely.
    * Made it to the ten year mark with my husband with whom I respect and continue to have lots of fun.
    * Learnt to express my needs and emotions a lot more clearly and with honesty and not be afraid of rejection or misunderstanding.
*Held my daughters hand as she made the step into her first year of school.
This is a FABULOUS thing to do and amazing how light you feel while embracing all that GRATITUDE!
    Best wishes,
    Siobhan O’Brien

THANK YOU for giving us the opportunity to do this. We always spend too much time on thinking about what we’ve still got to do or on what we didn’t do, rather than what we achieved.
2009 has been a big year for me and my three greatest achievemnets have been:-
    * Launching a new website http://www.betterquestions.com.au which provides resources to help people to find better answers
    * Publishing my book THE ANSWER – Improve Your Life By Asking Betetr Questions
    * Welcoming my new baby nephew to the world Seam Michael – he’s now 6 months old and I feel so blessed that he is in my life.
THANK YOU for giving us the opportunity to share these
    My warmest regards

2009 was awesome! I changed my job, moved to another country as I wanted, have now a really good income, found out what I really want to do in my life, met a group of new wonderful friends in my new place. What else? Developed self confidence in the way I always wanted it to be, fell at peace with myself and the whole world. I’m cured from depression and spine injury. I met Someone and it seems like this is the men I want to get old with. Even though I’m living far away from my homeland – I still have a great contact with my family and my friends. I found time to do my hobbies. I learned a lot of new things and developed clear and promising plan for the future – and started already implementing it. I could write much more 🙂 It was a really marvellous year 🙂

Jobs / Finance – Applied for many, gained very few interviews and only 2 months real work.

Relationships – Kept and made friends both online and in real time. However, because I didn’t get any permanent work, my wife is still stuck in SRI LANKA. I’d prefer her to be with me.

Community – supported both the Elders Consortium and Vale Consortium with their projects. The former completed a pamphlet and the latter organised a ‘Unity Day’ getting all the local charities together in one place and viewed by local residents.

Personal – Completed – and gained – the Advanced Diploma in Life Coaching from Learning Curve and Diploma in NLP from NLP Excellence. Designed and completed the website for Community Motivators – my own group that I would like to start. Applied for funding with Groundswell – but was refused – so am working towards applying for funding with UnLtd. Designed and delivered a Personal Development Program for the Women’s Consortium in June 2009.

Would have preferred to be in work so that my wife could join me. All else is just sugar coating.

Andrew – “Thank you to Tony Robbins, David Wood, Eckhart Tolle, Frank Kern, John Reese, Eban Pagan and the countless other amazing teachers I’ve come across this year.” wow, I really had to stop and breathe to take that in.

The new year celebration has never been something I looked forward to. I’m always worried about my family driving home from parties and the drunk drivers that are out there. Reading your newsletter reminded me to take the time to focus on achievements.

I published my book, Power Brainstorming.
I found some great people to collaborate with on my speaking career.
My family, including my 97 year old mother, are all doing fine.
I’m starting some new projects including my next book. It should be easier than the first one.

    Thanks for the reminder.

This year in 2009 I saw the power of the spoken word come to pass. After 12 years of divorce I am remarried my ex-husband and my family has been re-united. I now have two extremely happy children and we feel fulfilled. I am now ready and anxious to start my life’s journey. I am grateful for another chance and I have no one else to thank but the Lord Jesus Christ himself! I continue to see lives change through my natural health business and my heart’s desire is to help others realize their dreams.

What a fantastic year. I didn’t realise how much I had achieved until I started to write it down – here goes
fulfilled a dream to visit and travel around New Zealand
tried volunteering and walked away when I realised it wasn’t the right place for me
continued to grow relationships with family, friends and wlecomed new people into my life
joined an amazing new spiritual business community
completed a heart of money course and discovered there’s more to life than just earning the stuff
got my 7 steps to positive living website off the ground which includes my weekly inspirational insights that I have been working on for so long
fell on the ice and learned just how much limitations held me back with an insight that ‘I’ll never amount to much’ was a deep held belief from my mum which I only remembered out of context and not what she was trying to help me with – huge
joined an internet community that is so giving and found a buddy to share and compare progress with
saw some wonderful stage shows and had big fun with my sister at the same time
had a truly amazing year – roll on 2010
Love and blessings to you all, Jan

This year has been an enormous year! I am so greateful for the support of my beautiful partner, ember and my two young boys. I feel so appreciative that that they’re in my life and and they’ve been with me through thick and thin. I’m so thankful for an massive increase in energy due to a big commitment I’ve made to increasing my vitality and health through regular running, meditation and Qigong pratices.
I’m totally blown away by the magnificent people I’ve been facilitating in my Qigong program, including my amazing Qigong partner, Marg, who is a perfect and challenging reflection for me. people whom have transformed some major life lessons, a transformation that took me 5 times a long as them. I’m in awe of the evolution of human consciousness and the incredible possibilities that are now closer at hand than ever before.
I’m so grateful for moving away from my acupuncture practice and starting my mentoring business. Thank you so much to David who helped me turn my 25 client a week acupuncture business into a 25 client a week phone mentoring business, all within 3 months!! I’m now able to spend so much more time with my family working from home and building an online dtabase through my new mentoring website, a place where I can feel free to explore all the amazing possibilities in my life.
I’m thankful for an awesome family holiday campervaning around beautiful New Zealand.

Some significant milestones this year: I got my coach training graduation, on top of existing medical credentials. I also got clear on what is it that I offer.
I am grateful for: A nice vacation with my family. My daughter got an excellent result in her high school finals. My son got academic awards from school. My website went up! The inspiration to design programs and the resources which just fell in my lap! The first coaching client who was referred. The many nice people I came across around the world over the years, especially people like David Wood, Robert Middleton, Molly Gordon, Michael Neill, Michael Bungay Stainier and David Neagle.
It seemed like baby steps, but what a long way I have come: most of all I am more solution-focused than problem-stuck!
David’s CDs on Top Coaching Techniques and Explode Your Practice have been great helps: Thanks mate!
A blissful and prosperous 2010 to all!

2009 was a pretty full-on year for me
I trained in the Mace Energy Method (emotional clearing) and became a certified MEM practitioner. I did some pretty intense personal / spiritual development and completed a relationship that was not serving either of us. I also was the best mother I could be to my 2 small children and an executive member of the management committee that oversees their pre-school. I held my first (hopefully not my last) art exhibition, and had a piece published in “One Page Wisdom” Book One, both of which have inspired me to create more.
This year is looking to be fantastic – I am kicking it off with gaining Coaching qualifications and setting up a coaching business in January / February.
Thanks David for the opportunity to share.
Blessings for 2010 all – shine on everyone!
    Love All Ways

I achieved something I’ve dreamed of for a long time now: a column in a women’s magazine! Yessss! I also achieved formal qualifications in coaching and NLP, joined two professional coaching bodies, did some great personal development and sorted out a very toxic relationship. It’s been a hair-raising ride, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come! Bring on 2010!
