Advantages of Traditional publishers:
– handle a lot of the headache (e.g. language translation), and can get really good distrubution – if they want to. They can also help promote your book, but typically only do that for a few.
– advance (useful if you don’t believe in the book’s success but they do, and if you need the cash)
– looks good; credible<\/p>\n
Disavantages of Traditional Publishers:
– low royalty (8% instead of 20%)
– might keep high control of content, packaging, title, and things like electronic rights
– might limit you putting in calls to action<\/p>\n
Once upon a time you could either go traditional, or self publish. Seems this new breed of publisher allows you to kind of self publish, but also get distribution…..<\/p>\n
