{"id":1195,"date":"2012-02-26T12:00:14","date_gmt":"2012-02-26T18:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/life-coaching-resource.com\/blog\/?p=1195"},"modified":"2012-02-24T12:55:12","modified_gmt":"2012-02-24T18:55:12","slug":"choosing-a-mentor-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.life-coaching-resource.com\/blog\/choosing-a-mentor-coach\/","title":{"rendered":"Choosing a Mentor Coach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The following is an excerpt from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coachstart.com\/\">CoachStart Manual<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Most coaches are willing to answer some of your questions, and even do a free trial session before you sign on.\u00a0 Some good questions to ask are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0How long have you been coaching?<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0What training have you had?<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0How many coaches have you mentored or are you currently mentoring?<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0What kind of results have you had?<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Can you provide email addresses of a couple of coaches you&#8217;ve worked with?<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0What is the most important thing you will provide to help me build a successful coaching practice?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lastly, you want to feel comfortable with this person.\u00a0 Interviewing, trialing or studying up on one to three coaches should be sufficient.\u00a0 They no longer have to be in your country &#8211; just make sure if they&#8217;re overseas that they are willing to cover the cost of phone calls or factor this into your monthly fee.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re concerned about the investment, consider what your return on that monthly investment might be.\u00a0 In most cases, you only need two to three paying clients to cover the cost of your mentor coach.\u00a0 And if your coach can&#8217;t help you increase your client list by MORE than two to three, something&#8217;s missing!
